All across the country, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America give millions of children a safe place to learn and play after school. And thanks to JM Family, the parent company of Southeast Toyota Finance, a new center has opened in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
In May 2022, the JM Family Teen Center officially cut the ribbon. Born of a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and JM Family Enterprises, the 5,000-square-foot JM Family Teen Center has a technology lab, recording studio, culinary arts kitchen, lounge area, and game room. The space currently serves more than 250 teenagers!
JM Family donated $3 million from 2016 to 2018 to support the center's construction and development.
"The Teen Center provides a safe, secure environment for young people in our community," said Lisa Davis, director of Corporate Community Impact at JM Family. "It's a fun place for kids to grow, learn, develop and foster professional growth.”
The JM Family Teen Center offers multiple programs to help address its teens’ needs. The Snack and Supper Program, for instance, gives members a free snack and hot dinner almost every day of the week. Meanwhile, the Career Exploration Program and College Prep Program help students plan their future. Club members can even learn to swim and paint through different aquatics and arts programs.
The center helps teenagers financially as well. During the 2022-2023 program year, it gave six high school seniors college scholarships, helped 25 members get jobs and provided 12 free laptops to Members of the Month!
